June 16, 2011 – Denise Reeser Presented at the West Virginia Health Information Systems and Management Society Spring Conference and Annual Meeting

Denise Reeser, New Heights Consulting, LLC Founder and Managing Principal, delivered the keynote remarks and presented on the Electronic Health Network Accreditation Commission’s Health Information Exchange Criteria at the West Virginia HIMSS Meeting June 16 th and June 17 th at the Stonewall Resort in Roanoke, West Virginia. The conference was attended by health information technology professionals from West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.





June 1, 2011 – New Heights Consulting, LLC as Subcontractor to Koss on Care Awarded Maryland Health Care Commission Consumer HIE Contracts

New Heights Consulting, LLC as a subcontractor to Koss on Care was awarded three contracts from the Maryland Health Commission related to consumer HIE awareness and trust, education and outreach, and access plan development. The contracted work began immediately and is scheduled to conclude in December.

April 12, 2011 – New Heights Consulting, LLC and the Maryland Health Care Commission Presenting at the June 2011 HIMSS Virtual Conference.
New Heights Consulting, LLC and the Maryland Health Care Commission have been selected to present at the June 2011 HIMSS Virtual Conference. The presentation entitled “Maryland Medical Assistance Program Electronic Health Record Environmental Scan” will share the results of an environmental scan administered October 2010 through January 2011 to assess the level of EHR adoption among eligible physicians (EPs) and their level of readiness to meet the meaningful use requirements as outlined in the Medicare and Medicaid Programs; Electronic Health Record Incentive Program. The environmental scan comprised of a survey and focus groups, helped to determine what assistance providers needed to adopt an EHR, meet the meaningful use requirements, and subsequently qualify for the Medicaid EHR incentive payments.

January 28, 2011 – Pennsylvania eHealth Initiative (PAeHI) HIE White Paper "Financing Research and Framework Development for a Health Information Exchange" released November 2010.

September 22, 2010 - New Heights Consulting, LLC is awarded contract with the Maryland Health Care Commission
New Heights Consulting, LLC was recently awarded a contract by the Maryland Health Care Commission to conduct an environmental scan of electronic health record adoption among Eligible Providers outlined in the HITECH Act and Medical Assistance primary care providers. The environmental scan will determine the providers’ level of readiness to meet the meaningful use requirements and identify what providers report they need from Medicaid to support electronic health record adoption. New Heights will also gain an understanding of the barriers that exist among the providers and develop recommendations for mitigation.



September 13, 2010 – New Heights Consulting, LLC Continues to Assist Greater Baltimore Medical Center
New Heights Consulting, LLC continues consulting assistance to the Greater Baltimore Medical Center. New Heights has been selected to assist GBMC with an assessment of their core Hospital Information System and their employed physician system to determine the degree to which the systems can comply with the Meaningful Use regulatory requirements. New Heights will also develop an implementation roadmap.

July 9, 2010 – New Heights Consulting, LLC is selected to be EHNAC Site Reviewer for the Maryland
Regional Extension Center MSO Program
Denise Reeser, New Heights ’ Founder and Managing Principal, has been selected to be an Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC) consultant. In this capacity, Ms. Reeser will perform site reviews for organizations that are interested in obtaining accreditation as a Maryland Management Service Organization (MSO) under the Regional Extension Center Program. Ms. Reeser will work with EHNAC to review MSO self-assessments, perform the site reviews, and prepare site review reports.

Working with the Pennsylvania eHealth Initiative
New Heights Consulting, LLC and subcontractor Strategies for Tomorrow (SFT), have recently been selected to assist the Pennsylvania eHealth Initiative (PAeHI) in conducting health information exchange financing research and developing a financial sustainability framework. Using their industry expertise and knowledge, New Heights and SFT will work with Pennsylvania stakeholders throughout the next several months in developing health information exchange sustainability model options.
